[fusion_dropcap boxed=“no“ boxed_radius=““ class=““ id=““ color=““]1986[/fusion_dropcap] – Mit meiner damaligen Braun-Hifianlage – geerbt von meinem Vater – unternahm ich im zarten Jugendalter verschiedenste akustische Experimente bis hin zu selbstgebauten „Ohrmuscheln“, um den Klang zu „optimieren“, vielmehr zu verfälschen. Da kam der Bericht eines Hifimagazins genau zur rechten Zeit.

La Géode – das einzige und erste Zwöfkanal-Omnimax-Kino der Welt wird in Paris eröffnet und heizt mein akustisches Interesse an.
Das La Géode-12Kanal-Kino war mit aktiven eigens dafür von CABASSE entwickelten CABASSE-4-Wege-Clustersysteme ausgestattet. Schon damals übertrafen die zwölf Ausstrahlungspunkte den Standard 7.1 und verliehen dem Saal durch Klangquellen die oberhalb des Publikums angeordnet waren die azimutale Dimension, passend zur 1.000 Quadratmeter großen Projektionsfläche. Alle Kanäle verfügten über die gleiche komplette Übertragungsbandbreite von 20Hz bis 20Khz, für Spezialeffekte in den tiefen Tönen ergänzten vier riesige Subwoofer mit je 2x55cm großen Wabenmembranen das Grundsystem.

Der exige „Virus“ war geboren.

Das Interesse an technisch/akustischen Möglichkeiten gepaart mit daraus resultierenden Emotionen lässt mich bis heute nicht mehr los, machmal bis zur Verzweiflung meiner Frau…

25 Jahre und 100.000 Vorführungen

Nach der Erst-Ausstattung von La Géode vor 25 Jahren hebt Cabasse die akustische Qualität dieses einzigartigen Ortes auf ein neues Niveau.

Die neue Installation besteht aus 12 aktiven Quad-Amplification-Lautsprechern, wie „La Sphère“, sowie 6 Infra-Subwoofern des Géode (36 Lautsprecher mit jeweils 55 cm Durchmesser). Dies stellt ein 12.6-Mehrkanal-Audiosystem mit 108 leistungsstarken, digital gefilterten Lautsprechern dar, die von mehr als 40.000 Watt Verstärkung gespeist werden.
Eine technische Meisterleistung, die sich weitgehend bewährt hat, denn bei der Demontage der ursprünglichen Lautsprecher erschienen einige von ihnen nach 25 Jahren intensiver Nutzung als nahezu neu, nach fast 100.000 Sessions!
